Allyson and Mick's Wedding Website

The Wedding

The marriage of Allyson Kara Clelland and Michael Daniel Urbaniak will take place on Sunday 28th May 2006 in and around Dundee. There will be a wedding ceremony and drinks reception at the Hill of Tarvit, followed by a reception at the Invercarse Hotel and a ceilidh in the evening. All you're expected to do is turn up and have a good time; it's not as formal as it may sound.

We are not going on honeymoon straight after the wedding, so the day after the wedding we are planning to have an open house / BBQ. It would be really good if people could stay for this, so that we have a chance to see everybody.

The Venues

The wedding ceremony will take place at the Hill of Tarvit Mansion House.

The reception and ceilidh will be at the Invercarse Hotel.

The People

We'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you all to some of the other people involved in the wedding.

Getting here

Flights: Although you can fly into Dundee itself (see below), most people will probably find it cheaper to fly to Edinburgh. You can also fly to Glasgow International or Glasgow Prestwick, but these are further away (especially Prestwick). Unless you hire a car you'll have to get a train from the airport to Dundee. It's worth noting that neither Edinburgh or Glasgow airports have direct train connections, but Prestwick does.

Dundee Airport
The closest airport, but only has scheduled flights to London City, operated by Scotair.
Edinburgh Airport
The next closest airport. Get the Airlink bus to Waverley train station on Princes street (25min), then a train to Dundee (1hr20min)
Glasgow International
Get the bus to Glasgow Central Station (25min), walk to Queen Street Station (Signposted, 5min), then a train to Dundee (1hr30min)
Glasgow Prestwick
Get the train to Glasgow Central Station (45min), walk to Queen Street Station (Signposted, 5min), then a train to Dundee (1hr30min). If you fly with Ryanair you can get a discounted train fare if you present your booking confirmation page (in colour).

Trains: Fast trains to Dundee travel on the East Coast mainline via Edinburgh (London-Dundee 5hrs), whilst Virgin do a cross-country service. Tickets can be considerably cheaper if booked well in advance, and the overall journey time is often comparable to flying.

Coaches: You can get a coach, but unless you're extremely poor or coming from nearby it's not worth the discomfort. Megabus is generally the cheapest.

Accommodation

You can stay at the Invercarse Hotel, or in the surrounding area. Here are a few suggestions.

Wedding List

We are having a BBQ / open house the day after we get married and hope that you will stay around for that rather than buy us a present. If you feel you absolutely have to get us something and are stuck for inspiration then details of our wedding list arrangements can be found here.
